Burkinabè people in Abuja mobilize 3 million FCFA in support of the peace effort

Ouagadougou: The Burkinabè community living in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, presented a check for just over 3 million FCFA to the authorities of Burkina Faso, as a contribution to the fight against terrorism and the care of internally displaced people, the AIB learned from an official source this Wednesday.

The contribution of the Burkinabè diaspora in Abuja amounts to three million one hundred and twenty-six thousand five hundred (3,126,500) FCFA and was handed over to the Minister Delegate in charge of Regional Cooperation, Stella Eldine Kabré/Kaboré yesterday Tuesday, at during a ceremony, detailed the communications service of the ministry in charge of Burkinabè abroad.

‘This is our modest response to the appeal launched by the Head of State SEM Captain Ibrahim Traoré, in order to mobilize efforts for peace. It is a sign of our attachment to the motherland so that our country can recover its integrity,’ explained Passida Pascal Gouba, Deputy Permanent Representative, Charge d’Affaires of Burkina Faso in
Abuja.

According to him, other contributions will follow to continue support for the peace effort.

In 2022, the Burkinabè of Abuja had already mobilized 15 million FCFA for the same cause.
