The Burkinabè army assured on Wednesday that it had taken steps to identify alleged Combatant Forces who may have mutilated a human body, according to a viral video.

‘For several days, unbearable images of rare cruelty have been
conveyed on social networks.
In the said images, people supposedly belonging to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) put on a show by mutilating a human body.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces condemns with the greatest firmness these macabre actions which are antithetical to military and moral values, and contrary to the rules of engagement of combatants in the fight against terrorism.
It stands out from these inhumane practices likely to discredit the heroic struggle of the Burkinabè fighting forces engaged
on the front of the reconquest of the national territory.
In any case, the General Staff of the Armed Forces reassures that steps have been take
n to formally identify the origin of these images as well as their authors.
