Burkina: Students show interest in state symbols and honorary distinctions

Ouagadougou: The Grand Chancellery welcomed Friday morning in Ouagadougou a group of students from Aube Nouvelle Bobo University who came to immerse themselves in the different symbols and honorary distinctions of Burkina Faso.

‘I would like, on behalf of the Grand Chancellery, to express my satisfaction for this initiative of the Aube Nouvelle Bobo University to visit this institution which is a republican institution,’ suggested the Grand Chancellor of the Burkinabè orders, Pingrenoma Zagré.

He continued by saying that this initiative demonstrates the interest that young people show in knowing the institutions of Burkina Faso and their functioning.

During this meeting, the Secretary General of the Grand Chancellery, Emmanuel Sorgho, spoke with the students about the Burkinabè orders, their history and the different orders existing today.

These include national orders such as the Order of the Stallion and the Burkinabè Order of Merit, as well as specific orders including, among others, the Order of Merit
for Rural Development and the Order of Youth Merit and Sports.

They were also treated to a presentation of the state symbols, namely the emblem, coat of arms, national anthem and motto.

Mr. Sorgho also explained the conditions of admission to the Burkinabè orders as well as the disciplinary sanctions that can be taken against members of the Burkinabè Order of Merit, namely warning, suspension and exclusion.

‘Today, we decided to come to the field to find out how it happens in practice, to know the different missions of the Grand Chancellery and how they manage to people,’ indicated the president of the law sector. , Michelle Kientega.

For Michelle Kientega, this immersion allowed them to know the meanings of the colors of the emblem and the history of the Grand Chancellery.

‘Before coming to the Grand Chancellery, we had a vague knowledge of the emblems of Burkina Faso, but at the end of this conference, we managed to know the real meaning of the different colors of the emblem of Faso, the different symb
ols, the history of the Grand Chancellery and how the Grand Chancellor is appointed,’ she added.

Grand Chancellor Pingrenoma Zagré expressed the hope that this initiative of Aube Nouvelle University would be followed by other students and pupils.
