Ouagadougou: During the 33rd session of the General Assembly (GA) of State-owned companies, it emerged that 21 companies achieved a cumulative turnover of 3,090.030 billion CFA francs in 2024 compared to 1,910.743 billion CFA francs in 2023, an increase of 61.72%.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo, who chaired the AGM, welcomed the increase, recalling “the national context characterized by the dual security and humanitarian challenge, the effects of which on the economy require strong measures to strengthen the resilience of our public and parapublic enterprises.”
He also mentioned that the direct contribution of state-owned companies to the state budget is 595.314 billion CFA francs in 2024 compared to 589.043 billion CFA francs in 2023, an increase of 6.272 billion CFA francs. “This contribution to the national budget represents 19.72% of the state’s budget revenue as of December 31, 2024, compared to 21.86% in 2023,” he indicated.
This 33rd General Assembly also welcomed six new state-owned companies, created in the wake of the dynamics of the refoundation of the State, economic sovereignty and control of strategic sectors, driven by His Excellency the President of Faso.
