Ouagadougou: Burkinabè slammer Adjaratou Kabré alias Otemptic invites Burkinabè people through her single ‘De tous les couleurs’ to patriotism to better fight against terrorism which has been plaguing Burkina Faso for almost 10 years.
She is unarmed. She is a lyricist and only has the words to add her touch to the fight against the terrorist hydra. ‘Of all colors’ raises awareness and leads every Burkinabè to ask questions.
‘When I talk about colors here, I talk much more about the behavior of each Burkinabè, what behavior we adopt in the face of the security situation. Being Burkinabè, being patriotic, are we an observer, actor or spectator of this situation,’ asked the artist Otemptic to explain the meaning of his single.
The talented Otemptic is a master’s student in conflict management and peace building and also a Disk Jockey (DJ) and the phrase that sticks to her lips is ‘may peace truly return to Burkina Faso’.
She says she has opted for slam since 2019 because in her opinion ‘slam, beyond a passio
n, is a weapon of awareness’.
The justice-loving artist would like to work in a humanitarian organization ‘because my biggest dream is to be useful to my community’.
The young musical artist with great ambitions has only one single on the disc market. The release of the clip ‘Of all the colors’ is scheduled for April 13 on YouTube. An album is almost complete and will be released on June 28, God willing.
