‘My country Burkina Faso saw its aid flows received in 2022 drop by 16.0%, after continuous growth started since 2017,’ she noted.

Burkina Faso also ‘joined its voice to that of other developing countries’ to ask donors to take into account the proposals coming from developing countries and to reform development aid in order to make it more effect
ive.

‘Strengthening the effectiveness (of development aid) involves ensuring that the assistance provided to developing countries really helps them improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations. To achieve this, financial support must be aligned with national development priorities,’ added the Minister Delegate for International Cooperation.

Finally, Burkina Faso reiterated its confidence in international cooperation for responsible development and multilateral cooperation in that they can play a fundamental and decisive role in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the resolution of crises and conflicts.

The Sustainable Development Goals, included in the 2030 Agenda, aim to reduce extreme poverty and inequalities and respond to the consequences of climate variations by 2030, notably through international cooperation.
