This Tuesday’s Burkinabè dailies comment extensively on the news relating to the fight against terrorism, the draw for the Common Tranche Entente (TCE) of national lotteries, not to mention the peace efforts .

Under the title: “Peace effort: Les Etalons cadets contribute up to one million CFA francs”, the newspapers largely took up a press release from the Communication Department of the Presidency of Faso.

Thus according to the writing, the President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré granted yesterday Monday afternoon, an audience to the Cadet Stallions returning from the 15th edition of the African Cup of Nations ( CAN) of their category, which was held from April 29 to May 19, 2023 in Algeria.

To read Sidwaya, the national daily, the bronze medalists of this competition were, on occasion, accompanied by their technical staff, the president of the Burkinabè Football Federation (FBF) and the minister in charge of sports.

“In addition, the young Stallions and their management mobilized one million FCFA which they handed over to the Head of State for the peace effort”, specifies the article.

For its part, L’Observateur Paalga, the dean of private Burkinabè daily newspapers, informs that the Association of young Burkinabè and friends for the promotion of sport and peace in Africa (AJBASP) has mobilized two million CFA francs for the peace effort.

The same newspaper, which reproduces an army press release, reports that a dozen assailants were killed by the fighting forces on the Kaya-Dori axis, near the Naré bridge.

Regarding the response to terrorism, Sidwaya posts: “News from the front: Bitter defeats inflicted on the terrorists”, noting that the Combatant Forces have carried out operations in the country’s provinces which have resulted in “the neutralization of several dozen terrorists and the recovery of combat weapons”.

Meanwhile, the private newspaper Le Quotidien, under another chapter, mentions on its front page: “28 th Edition of the common tranche agreement: the 5 Burkinabè winners have received their checks”.

Today in Faso devotes its headline to this subject, highlighting: “The lucky winners have entered into possession of their checks”.

The newspaper also informs that it is the Ivorian Guillaume Dohou who won the jackpot of 10 million CFA francs, during the big draw of the 28th of the TCE, held in Ouagadougou from May 15 to 19.

It is right that Sidwaya points out that Côte d’Ivoire, among the countries (Burkina Faso, Benin, Niger, Togo) of the Council of Understanding (CE) is the lucky winner of the 28th edition of the TCE.
