Burkina/Patriotic Commitment Days: Sahel Governor Urges Constituted Bodies to Be Exemplary in Fiscal Conduct


Ouagadougou: The Governor of the Sahel region, Abdoul Karim Zongo, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, invited the constituted bodies of his region to be exemplary in their fiscal affairs and to revisit customs and traditions in order to extract certain substrates, including order and discipline.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the call was made as part of the second edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC). Governor Abdoul Karim Zongo urged the vital forces of the Sahel region to pay their taxes, emphasizing the importance of fiscal responsibility.



On this occasion, Governor Zongo delivered the message of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, in its entirety. He highlighted the need for the constituted bodies to revisit customs and traditions to extract fundamental elements such as order and discipline, which are essential for building peace and social cohesion.



Zongo pointed out that the rigorous application of order and discipline contributed to the development of certain Asian states by enforcing strict adherence to working hours, hierarchy, and respect for the elderly. He also called on the defense and security forces (FDS) and public administration agents to demonstrate exemplary behavior and ensure they fulfill their tax obligations.



The second edition of JEPPC is scheduled to take place from March 26 to April 9, 2025, under the theme: “For order and discipline: I commit myself.”
