Ouagadougou: The government adopted yesterday Wednesday a decree to make the Burkina Faso Mining Participation Company operational in order to bring the ongoing reforms to the mining sector and allow the country to benefit more from them. spin off.
Created in 2014, the mining participation company of Burkina Faso will take care of all that is strategic monitoring to help maximize the benefits in terms of mining, indicated the Minister of Mines, Yacouba Zabré Gouba.
The minister, who spoke after the council of ministers on Wednesday July 31, 2024 in Ouagadougou, confided with the operationalization of this company, Burkina has a unique instrument allowing all of its participations to be addressed on mining issues. and substances from quarries.
For him, this decision is part of the dynamic of the ongoing reforms desired by the country’s authorities.
According to the minister, the government also adopted a decree for the renewal of the operating permit for the large industrial mine of Taparko.
The latter, a
ccording to Minister Gouba, is approximately 488 square kilometers.
‘The renewal will be carried out over an additional period of 5 years and will ultimately allow approximately 71 billion to be collected in the state budget,’ he confided.
This renewal will make it possible to consolidate jobs for the benefit of around 500 nationals, concluded the minister.
