Burkina now chairs the ASECNA committee of ministers


Ouagadougou: Burkina Faso has taken charge, for one year, of the Ministerial Committee for the Transport sector within the member states of the Agency for Safety and Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA).

At the end of the 73rd session of this committee held this Friday in Ouagadougou, the torch was passed to the Burkinabè Minister in charge of Transport, Anûuyirtole Roland Somda.

‘The charge given to our colleague and brother Minister of Transport, Roland SOMDA is not simply his own charge. This is the responsibility of the entire Burkinabè people, but also of the President of Faso,’ reported the communications service of the presidency of Faso, quoting the Congolese Minister of Transport, Civil Aviation and the Merchant Navy. , Honoré Sayi.

Opened this morning under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambela, the 73rd session of the ASECNA Committee of Transport Ministers was well attended.

ASECNA was created in December 1959 and includes 19 member states. In May 2023, s
he announced her support for the rehabilitation of Bobo-Dioulasso airport. It maintains good relations with Burkina Faso. She accepted the choice of Burkinabè Louis Bakienon for the post of Executive Secretary of the African and Malagasy Civil Aviation Authorities.
