Rather than celebrating March 8 with their contributions of 125,000 FCFA, the women of the village of Gnigbaman in the commune of Dano preferred to donate this sum for the war effort. .
A delegation of women from the village of Gnigbaman (Zinkoné) came on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 to Dano, to submit their contribution to the patriotic support fund.
The president of the women of Zinkoné, Domègnon Dabiré transmitted to the president of the special municipal delegation of Dano Denis Zanré, the sum of one hundred and twenty-five thousand (125,000) CFA francs.
It was in the presence of the 1st vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Dano Aristide Dabiré and the president of the village development committee (CVD) Clément Dabiré.
According to Domègnon Dabiré, this sum was intended for the delayed celebration of International Women’s Rights Day.
“Each year, we celebrate March 08 in our village. This year, given the difficult security and above all humanitarian situation that Burkina Faso is going through, we have decided to show our compassion to our soldiers at the front and to the populations vulnerable because of this crisis. Instead of celebrating, we prefer to put the little that we have contributed for the benefit of the underprivileged strata,” she underlined.
The contribution received was delivered forthwith to the main treasury office of Dano with delivery of a payment receipt.
The CVD president of Gnigbaman Clément Dabiré indicated that this action will not be the last.
Mr. Dabiré invites the other villages to show their solidarity with our compatriots in the areas in difficulty.
For the PDS prefect of Dano, this initiative of the women of Gnigbaman is a fine example of patriotism and true civic engagement.
“I would like to convey to them our gratitude and that of the highest authorities in the country for this great effort they have made,” said the prefect of Dano.
He took this opportunity to launch an appeal to the populations of the commune so that everyone contributes to the patriotic support fund launched by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to defeat the forces of evil imposed on our homeland.
