Burkina: IDPs in Solenzo benefit from boreholes and latrines


Ouagadougou: Internally displaced women from Solenzo benefited from two boreholes and latrines this Friday, July 26 in sector 3 of Solenzo.

This inaugural ceremony of the jewel was the secretary general of the Banwa province, Abdoul Karim Kongzabré, accompanied by directors and heads of provincial services as well as several internally displaced women (IDPs) who came out in large numbers for the cause.

The two boreholes and latrines were erected in sector 3 and sector 1 of the city.

When we came here we didn’t have water and the wells were dry. This morning, we were given a pump, we are very happy because the first problem for a woman is water and then the toilet,’ rejoiced the representative of the beneficiaries, Abibou Porgo.

The representative of internally displaced women beneficiaries of these wash infrastructures appealed to other women to properly maintain these achievements.

‘There are many internally displaced people in Solenzo and when the NGO EngenderHealth offered us this humanitarian aid we
hastily accepted the offer,’ launched Solenzo’s PDS Abdoul Karim Diaby.

According to him, these works composed of two boreholes equipped with human-powered pumps and two latrines for the Hygienic management of menstruation will allow beneficiaries to preserve their health and dignity.

After cutting the ribbon, the secretary general of the Banwa province, the PDS of Solenzo and the representative of the beneficiaries proceeded to receive the jewel.
