Bobo-dioulasso: The former Director General of the Burkinabe Textile Fiber Company (SOFITEX), Arsene Ghislain Somda, was placed under arrest warrant on the night of Thursday, October 30, 2025, following his hearing by the investigating judge of the High Court of Bobo-Dioulasso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Somda is being prosecuted for alleged embezzlement of public funds, illicit enrichment, and money laundering. These offenses are provided for and punished by articles 332-17 and 332-24 of the Burkinabe penal code.
This accusation is part of an ongoing investigation into the management of the national company responsible for the cotton sector.
