Burkina/Boulgou: a new ecotourism village inaugurated in ZabréTunisia to attend International Conference on Disability next October in Italy

Boulgou: An ecotourism village called ‘Celebrity Ecotourism Village’ was inaugurated last Saturday March 2 in Zabré in the Boulgou province (Central-Eastern Burkina), noted an AIB journalist.

Built over an area of 6,389m², the ‘Celebrity Ecotourism Village’ of Zabré was inaugurated on Saturday March 2, 2024 under the patronage of the Director General of Tourism of Burkina Faso, Monique Ilboudo.

According to the promoter Emile Gouba, a native of the locality, this village is the fruit of a dream which was to create an infrastructure intended to accommodate, in healthy ecological conditions, tourists passing through or visiting his town.

This is how in 2020 he undertook to make it a reality by the effective construction of 5 apartments in definitive materials, composed of 2 bedrooms each, making a total of 10 fully equipped rooms, 1 Nubian Vault composed of 2 bedrooms, built in local materials and equipped, 2 buildings serving as reception and bar, 1 kitchen and latrines.

» Today we can express our satisfac
tion with the effective realization of this reception establishment to which we have given the name ‘Celebrity Ecotourism Village’. This is to honor well-known people who have left their mark on their lives,’ the promoter suggested.

Indeed, each room bears the name of an African or Burkinabé personality, missing or still alive, with their portraits painted at the entrance.

“The erection of this jewel, in addition to respecting the requirements of the new regulations which govern the tourism sector in Burkina Faso, also takes into account the principles of sustainability” specified the general director of tourism of Burkina Faso Monique Ilboudo. She urged the promoter to constantly surround himself with qualified and dynamic staff.

The developer plans to build a meeting room and a swimming pool in the near future. In order to improve the attractive appearance of the place, he also plans, with the opinion of the families or those concerned, to produce portraits to pay tribute to people known for having serve
d Zabré with ‘honorable mention’.

A few trees were planted during the inauguration ceremony. The Zabré celebrity ecotourism village already employs around ten people.
