Burkina: AES wants to sign a customs interconnection agreement with Togo


The directors general of customs of the member states of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) took a decision yesterday Tuesday in Niamey, Niger, on the free choice to sign a protocol of agreement and a framework instruction for the interconnection of the customs systems of the AES countries with Togo.

The directors general of customs from Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger met in the Nigerien capital to adopt decisions on securing transit through an interconnection between the different AES states and Togo, we learned. ‘AIB.

Customs bosses have instructed their technical teams to do everything possible to make the AES an interconnected customs area.

During the same meeting where Chad and Togo are guests of honor, regulatory arrangements will be made with other countries such as Ivory Coast.

Experts will discuss the customs implications of their respective countries’ exit from ECOWAS before the directors general of customs from the AES countries consider the perspectives and alternative measures to deal with this
situation.

The meeting focused on the theme ‘Strengthening IT interconnection and socio-economic promotion through the free movement of people and goods and services’.
