Six people lost their lives and four others injured in a landslide at a gold panning site in the village of Kaya, commune of Tiébélé, AIB learned from the gendarmerie of the locality.

The collapse of a gold panning site in the village of Kaya, commune of Tiébélé, (Nahouri province) on the night of Tuesday April 23 to Wednesday April 24, 2024, left 6 dead and 4 injured according to the local gendarmerie.

After the findings of the security services and the report made to the Faso prosecutor, at the Pô High Court, the bodies were handed over to the parents for burial. It should be noted that this gold panning site is prohibited from exploitation but recalcitrants persist and still go there to illegally mine.
