Namentenga: The High Commissioner of the province of Namentenga, Adama Conseiga, presided over the first ordinary session of the Health District Health Council (CSD) in Boulsa. The meeting, attended by statutory members and guests, celebrated the health district’s commendable performance.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Health District (DS) of Boulsa in the province of Namentenga recorded zero deaths from cases of meningitis, measles, febrile jaundice, severe malaria, and dengue compared to the same period in the previous year. The members of the Boulsa Health District Health Council expressed their congratulations to the staff and partners for their efforts in achieving these results.
Health workers were encouraged to maintain their efforts to further improve the health status of the population. Recommendations were made for the establishment of secondary birth registration centers, ensuring the effective use of long-lasting insecticide-treated mosquito nets (LLINs), revitalizing community-based health workers (CBHAs), and continuing awareness initiatives.
Dr. Emile Compaor©, Chief Medical Officer of the Boulsa Health District, advised health workers to remain vigilant against endangered diseases, warning that complacency could lead to their resurgence. Eric Ki¨ma, from the Tougouri health district, also shared insights on interventions in his area.
Adama Conseiga extended gratitude to the Burkinabe Red Cross for facilitating the session and wished the CSD continued success and a prosperous wet season. Participants received updates on several initiatives, including the patriotic immersion of new high school graduates at Boulsa “A” school, the reopening of the CSPS “Eau vive” of Boulsa, the regional week of culture in Kaya on September 6, and the weekly “Sport for all” events.
