Boulgou: The Bittou territorial gendarmerie brigade, in collaboration with the Bittou livestock services, proceeded to the incineration of 85 boxes containing seized chicks.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the seizure occurred on the night of October 22 to 23, 2025. The operation was conducted with the help of the Bittou gendarmerie and the detachment of the village of Gnangdin. The chicks, hidden in a car and estimated at 2 million 250 FCFA, were being transported from a neighboring country to the town of Koup©la.
The incineration event was attended by the Defense and Security Forces, the president of the Bittou municipal coordination of citizen monitoring, and officials in charge of Bittou livestock farming. Chief Warrant Officer Banaon Somie, commander of the Bittou territorial gendarmerie brigade, emphasized the prohibition of chick importation in the national territory and urged traders to comply with the regulations.
This incident follows a previous seizure on August 8, 2025, when 490 boxes containing chicks were also confiscated and incinerated in Bittou.
