Bogandé: The Kolgweogo self-defense group from Bogandé, Gnagna province, destroyed 64 boxes of Pastis on Sunday, the AIB noted.
A total of 64 boxes, or around 768 liters of pastis, were destroyed in the presence of the security authorities and a massive crowd that came out on the occasion. The bottles and their contents were broken and taken into a hole prepared for the occasion.
This large quantity of adulterated drink, particularly pastis, was seized in 2023 during several inspections in certain stores in the town of Bogandé. ‘It is on the basis of information provided by the populations that we managed to get our hands on these adulterated drinks,’ said the president of the Bogandé self-defense groups, Djingri Lankoandé.
While welcoming the vigilance of the populations of the town of Bogandé, Mr. Lankoandé invited them to more collaboration to put an end to the circulation of these drinks and save lives by putting a brake on the consumption of these drinks which are very harmful to health . .
