Bazèga: AFUB women organize their open day

The Association of United Women of Bazèga (AFUB) organized on Sunday May 14, 2023 in Kombissiri, the 2nd edition of its open day. Objective, to make the association better known to the general public and to make the various activities carried out by its valiant members more visible.

Place du 2 juin de Kombissiri had a special atmosphere this Sunday, May 14, 2023, the day of the city’s big market.

And for good reason, the members of the Association of United Women of Bazèga (AFUB) organized the second edition of their open day there.

The organization of this day according to the president of AFUB Awa Ouédraogo/Rouamba, aims to show the know-how of the members and make the association more visible.

This 2nd edition, specifies the president of the association, is an activity which was to be held during the year 2022 but which could not be done due to scheduling constraints due to other activities, in particular the 16 days of activism carried out last December.

During this day, awareness was raised for the benefit of women in the town of Kombissiri through messages on various themes, namely gender-based violence, violence against children, the commitment of women to responsibility in the province and speaking out at meetings, etc.

The holding of this day was an opportunity for the women of AFUB to exhibit and sell the various products resulting from the income-generating activities they carry out within the association.

Vegetables from the market garden area they own, ”Faso Danfani” woven loincloths, lumps of small millet, brooms are among others, the products displayed and sold on the occasion of this 2nd edition open house organized thanks to the support of the NGO Oxfam, a partner of AFUB.

This activity, which coincides with the Kombissiri market day, allowed the members of the association to do good business and the many visitors to leave with various prizes won thanks to the games and the surprise envelopes organized on site.
