Baz¨ga Commune Launches Motorcycle Initiative for VDP and FDS


Baz¨ga: The special delegation of the commune of Gaongo has launched the operation “One village, at least one motorcycle” aimed at benefiting the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) and the Defense and Security Forces (FDS).



According to Burkina Information Agency, the special delegation of Gaongo, a rural commune situated about twenty kilometers east of Kombissiri in the Centre-Sud region, organized its accountability day on May 31, 2025. This event was held to present the management accomplishments of 2024 and to introduce the new initiative. Sadou Moustapha Ou©draogo, president of the special delegation, emphasized the significance of the accountability day in promoting effective communal governance and shared the results of the previous year’s activities along with future aspirations.



The accountability day provided an opportunity for the community to review achievements across various sectors such as education, health, security, water, agriculture, and the environment. It also focused on the functioning of town hall services. A key highlight of the event was the launch of the “One village, at least one motorcycle” operation across all 13 villages in the commune, successfully mobilizing 100,000 CFA francs for the initiative’s implementation.



High Commissioner of the province of Baz¨ga, Mrs. T©n© Justine Kientega/Ilboudo, who presided over the day, praised the initiative for fostering citizen involvement in local management. The meeting also served as a platform for PDS Ou©draogo to extend gratitude to the various partners supporting the municipality’s development efforts.



The participation and engagement of the residents were commended, and the day concluded with a call for greater unity aimed at achieving more substantial development in the commune of Gaongo.
