Bassitenga: As part of the promotion of the appropriation of national symbols, the 226 Citizen Movement initiated on Thursday in Ziniar©, a listening and learning session of the national anthem, the Ditany¨, in the Moor© language for the benefit of around sixty people.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this activity is part of the vision of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, who calls for greater cultural independence through the promotion of national languages.
For the coordinator of the 226 Citizen Movement, Alassane Ou©draogo, the national anthem constitutes “a lever of cohesion and a tool for mobilization, particularly in this revolutionary phase where the Burkinabe people are asserting their identity.”
The association intends to multiply such actions in order to strengthen patriotic awareness and give the Burkinabe solid ideological benchmarks to face oppression.
The facilitators, Tass©r© Compaor© and Issaka Sawadogo, explained the profound meaning of Ditany¨ to the participants before leading them in its practice in Moor©. They said they corrected errors frequently observed in its execution and encouraged the participants to continue popularizing it in their various environments.
Present at the meeting, Naaba Koanga from Koassanga welcomed the initiative and appreciated the choice of Moor© as the language of learning.
The meeting brought together Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) from Zitenga, students from the Ziniar© university center, members of the citizen watch as well as women from local associations.
