Banjul – The Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Azerbaijan signed on Saturday in Banjul, The Gambia, an agreement on visa exemption for holders of ordinary passports of both countries.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 15th Islamic Summit, which kicked off Saturday in Banjul, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhoun Baîramov.
The agreement, which aims to strengthen friendly relations and develop cooperation between Morocco and Azerbaijan in the field of tourism, is designed to facilitate the entry of citizens of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Azerbaijan, holding effective ordinary passports, to both countries exclusively for tourism purposes.
At the start of the signing ceremony, the two ministers held bilateral talks focusing on strengthening relations between the two countries in various fields.
During his stay in the Gambian capital, Bourita held a series of meetings with sev
eral of his counterparts taking part in the Islamic Summit, which wraps up this Sunday in the Gambian capital.
These talks with foreign ministers of Yemen, Niger, Brunei, Gabon, Mali, Gambia, Senegal, Mauritania, Turkey, Sudan and Burkina Faso focused on strengthening bilateral relations and topics of common interest.
