Bam: Journalists from the Center-North at the school of crisis communication

Around ten journalists from the Center-North region were trained in crisis communication on July 11, 2024 in Kongoussi by the regional directorate of Communication and Media of the Center-North.

Journalists from Kaya, Boulsa and Kongoussi saw their skills strengthened on Thursday July 11 in Kongoussi on crisis communication.

The module provided to participants was designed by the Ministry in charge of Communication.

It was communicated to journalists by the regional director of Communication and Media Wenceslas Anselme Wend-Kouni Yoni.

According to him, the objective pursued is to provide journalists in the region with skills capable of processing information in this period of security and humanitarian crisis.

‘We have our FDS and our VDP who are leading a fight on the ground and we too with our pens, with our cameras, with our microphones, we must also contribute to this fight. This is why we came to share with journalists the main directions of the crisis communication strategy which was developed by o
ur ministry (…) to help the Transitional government restore the national territory, to help the entire Burkinabè nation to find peace,’ he said.

The journalists come from private press organs in the region but also from public service media such as Rtb television and the Burkina Information Agency (AIB) from the Center-North.

For participant Guetwendé Tanti Élise Ouédraogo from Digitale TV/Bam, this meeting brought a plus.

‘With what we received in terms of knowledge at this workshop, we are going to give more for the return of peace and social cohesion to Burkina Faso through our productions,’ she said.

As a reminder, the Regional Directorate of Communication and Media of the Center-North has always trained journalists and other communication stakeholders in the Center-North on important themes since the outbreak of the security crisis in the region.
