Baccalaureate 2023: The tests launched in the Centre-Nord region

The Governor of the Center-North Region Colonel-Major Zoewendmanégo Blaise Ouédraogo officially launched the 2023 baccalaureate session exams on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Kaya municipal high school. He congratulated and encouraged the candidates and actors for the proof of resilience they have shown in a difficult security context.

The governor of the Center-North region, Colonel-Major Zoewendmanégo Blaise Ouédraogo officially launched the Baccalaureate 2023 exams in room 1 of Jury 251 at the municipal high school of Kaya.

He invited the candidates of his region to remain calm and above all not to resort to fraud for a resounding success. “Succeeding this exam is also an act of resilience that we must capitalize on,” he said.

He acknowledged that some candidates are in very difficult conditions due to terrorism. “The pen for the student is the equivalent of the Kalashnikov for the FDS and for the VDP” he noted to galvanize the candidates.

There are a total of 5,693 registered candidates, including 5,612 for general education and 81 for technical education, all series combined, according to the regional director of post-primary and secondary education for the Center-North, Mrs. Ouédraogo/Bélémviré Djénéba.

“We are seeing a drop in the number of staff and this could be explained by the closure of certain establishments due to terrorism,” she said. At the 2022 session, there were indeed 6,743 candidates, including 3,192 girls.

Despite the concern that can be read on their faces, the candidates say they are confident about their success in this exam which will open the doors of university to them. The tests started are scheduled to end on Friday, June 23, 2023 and the results in the following days.
