Arab Parliamentary Union Congress: Moroccan Delegation Reiterates Kingdom’s Support for Palestinian Cause

Algiers – The Moroccan delegation taking part in the 36th Congress of the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU) reiterated, on Sunday in Algiers, Morocco’s support, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, for the Palestinian Cause and its efforts to preserve the legal status and the historical and civilizational character of the Holy City.

Speaking on behalf of the Moroccan delegation, first vice-speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohamed Sibari, highlighted the initiatives of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, aimed at safeguarding the cultural identity of the Holy City and supporting the resistance of the Palestinian people in the face of attempts to alter the status of the Holy City and the demographic balance in the Palestinian territories.

‘Peace and coexistence have been and will remain one of the components of the doctrine of Moroccan diplomacy, under the leadership of His Majesty the King’, noted Sibari, reiterating Morocco’s constant and historic positions
in favor of the Palestinian Cause and the efforts made by His Majesty the King, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, to preserve the legal status and the historical and civilizational character of the Holy City.

He affirmed that the Palestinian people have been fighting for decades against ‘the historic injustice done to them, and today they are shedding their blood to obtain their inalienable and non-negotiable rights’.

In addition, Sibari emphasized the repercussions of the current situation in the Arab world on the positioning of the Arab group on the international scene and its impact on the Palestinian cause, as the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip suffer enormously from Israeli aggression, regretting the inaction of the international community, in particular the forces that influence international resolutions, to put an end to Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
