AIB Journalists Enhance Skills in AI and Video Editing

Ouagadougou: Journalists and correspondents from the Burkina Faso Information Agency (AIB) pledged on Friday to improve the quality of their productions, following a four-day training course focused on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and audiovisual production.

According to Burkina Information Agency, AIB journalists and correspondents committed to putting the knowledge they acquired into practice, while ensuring the ethical and secure use of AI. “These skills will be put into practice once we return to our localities,” said Souleymane Zour©, AIB correspondent in Ioba province. He noted that the training would enhance the efficiency of correspondents in producing content for publication at AIB headquarters.

“This session was a true school of professionalism and an enriching space for sharing experiences,” Zour© added, praising the quality of the modules, content relevance, and competence of the trainers. Jo«l Patrick Koala, AIB correspondent in Sabou, also believed that the training would significantly improve the quality of field productions.

Participants recommended to the Director General of AIB, Ms. S©raphine Som©/Millogo, and her colleagues, to continue technical capacity building activities, particularly through regular training and support with professional equipment. In response, Mrs. Som©/Millogo expressed satisfaction with the training’s progress and reaffirmed the management’s commitment to ongoing capacity building.

“Our most precious asset remains the men and women who carry out the AIB’s mission every day,” she emphasized. The training, which started on July 18, 2025, covered practical modules on AI-assisted content production, shooting, and video editing.
