Ahmadiyya Medical Center Leads Free Cancer Screening Initiative in Koup©la


Kourittenga: The Ahmadiyya Medical Center of Koup©la organized a free screening and awareness day on Saturday, October 25, 2025, under the theme “Let’s act together for zero cervical cancer.” This event was part of the Pink October activities, dedicated to combating breast and cervical cancer.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative aims to encourage women to undergo regular screenings to prevent serious diseases that particularly affect women. In addition to cervical and breast cancer screenings, the center offered tests for high blood pressure, diabetes, hepatitis B and C, and HIV/AIDS.



Women received these screening and health advice services free of charge. The center also reduced the cost of ultrasounds to 5,000 CFA francs, benefiting pregnant women significantly. Sheikh Zorom©, the administrator of the Ahmadiyya Medical Center, emphasized that the day was part of a dynamic of prevention and local awareness.



“The goal is to get women to understand their health status and seek regular care. Prevention remains the best way to save lives,” Sheikh Zorom© explained.



Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the services provided. Isabelle Sandwidi, one of the beneficiaries, thanked the Ahmadiyya Medical Center for the opportunity to have her tests done for free and to receive valuable health advice. Another beneficiary, Adjara Bougma, praised the initiative, saying, “I have no words for this medical center because thanks to its initiative to help women, we were welcomed and well satisfied. From today on, we know how to take care of ourselves so as not to get sick.”
