On this occasion, Sadiki, the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, inaugurated Friday the Moroccan pavilion at the International Green Week in Berlin, said a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests.
The minister, accompanied by Moroccan Ambassador to Germany Zohour Alaoui, visited various stands of the Moroccan pavilion, which aims to highlight the novelties, diversity, richness and quality of the Kingdom’s food products, especially local varieties.
Organized by Morocco Foodex, the Moroccan pavilion is built on an area of 623 m2. It knows the participation of a score of cooperatives and economic interest groups, representing the regions of Morocco, which exhibit a wide range of products of Moroccan soil, reflecting the authenticity and richness of the national soil and Moroccan culture, says the same source.
Among the products on display will be olive oil, argan oil, saffron, spices, dates, couscous, prickly pear products and rose products. This participation is part of the national strategy for the development of local products.
The participation of Morocco in the Green Week in Berlin aims to reinforce the achievements of the Kingdom in the field of food exports and explore new opportunities for the Moroccan offer in the international circuit, he further added.
This event is a great opportunity for the Kingdom to highlight the potential and strengths of the Moroccan food sector and to increase market share and diversify opportunities, especially for products with high added value.
It is also an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the global market and to inquire about trends in European consumption patterns in general and German consumption in particular, the statement said.
The International Green Week Berlin is one of the world’s largest events dedicated to food, agriculture and horticulture. It brings together consumers, policy makers, supply chain operators and agricultural innovation researchers. This year’s edition brings together more than 1880 exhibitors from around sixty countries and welcomes more than 400,000 visitors.
On the sidelines of the event, the Minister met with the Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture of Germany, the Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the German Bundestag, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources of the Republic of Rwanda and the European Commissioner for Agriculture, the statement concluded.
