In a statement, the Committee expressed “its gratitude to all countries that have supported and defended the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Holy Places, especially His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), for his firm and solidarity-based position towards Palestine and its cause, as well as his total rejection of any measure that undermines the Holy Places of Al Quds.
Furthermore, the Committee warned against the international silence regarding the crimes of the occupation and its continuous attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestinian citizens.
It added that “Israel’s continued attempts to impose spatial and temporal separation in and around Al-Aqsa Mosque and the ongoing attacks on the mosque, carried out by settlers under the protection of the occupation army, will lead to further escalation and drag the area into a spiral of increased violence”.
The Committee also stressed that the international community and its institutions are obliged to take immediate measures to pressure the Israeli occupation government to stop its crimes against the Holy Places in the occupied city of Al-Quds, as well as the citizens who are prevented from performing their religious rites during the holy month of Ramadan.
The establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Al Quds as its capital is the only solution for the region to enjoy security and stability, the Committee noted, calling for greater international solidarity with the Palestinian cause and rights.
