Gourma: The Commune of Diapangou Wins 2nd National Performance Prize


Gourma: The President of the special delegation (PDS) of the rural commune of Diapangou, Jean Youma, presented to his population the 2nd national performance prize won by the commune, during the evaluation of local authorities. The distinction was awarded on July 17, 2025, by the Support Unit for Decentralization and Citizen Participation (CADEPAC) and includes a financial envelope of 9,800,000 CFA francs.



According to Burkina Information Agency, out of a total of 30 competing municipalities, Diapangou ranked second, tied with the municipality of Fada N’Gourma, behind the urban municipality of Koudougou. Diapangou, however, occupies first place in the category of rural communes, as highlighted by the PDS, Jean Youma. The official presentation of the award took place on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, alongside the accountability day organized in the town.



The PDS praised the commitment and efforts made by all local stakeholders and populations which, according to it, made this result possible. “This prize is a call to do better for the virtuous management of public affairs and for the happiness of the people of Diapangou,” he said.
