Mouhoun: On the occasion of the third anniversary of Captain Ibrahim Traore’s accession to power, the Bondoukuy Citizen Watch Coordination organized a popular march in Kera, marked by a notable turnout. The event served as a platform for expressing support for the Transition and the ideals of the revolutionary movement.
According to Burkina Information Agency, from the early hours of the morning, the city of Kera resonated with the sounds of drums and balafons, as people from Bondoukuy, Kosso, Bwan, Wakuy, Tankuy, and Dampan gathered alongside administrative, customary, religious authorities, and defense and security forces. Participants carried banners and slogans, singing patriotic songs and chanting messages of loyalty to President Traore and the national reconstruction efforts.
The ambiance was both festive and solemn, as women sang songs of praise, young people voiced their support for the President, and elders highlighted the importance of maintaining stability. Gedeon Tamboe, the coordinator of the Bondokuy citizen watch, emphasized that the mobilization was intended to express gratitude and reaffirm commitment to the country’s authorities, viewing President Traore as an embodiment of courage and determination.
During the event, a ceremony in the courtyard of the ‘A’ school in Kera included the presentation of a large food donation to vulnerable people by Maxim Zougmore, known as ‘the man of IB’. This act of generosity was seen as a symbol of solidarity and community support.
Additionally, a tree named “IB tree” was planted at the Kera CSPS, symbolizing the event’s significance. Prior to the event, Kera hosted a campaign by the National Identification Office (ONI) to establish national identity cards, enabling many residents to obtain this essential document and enhancing their civic integration.
Through this commemoration, Bondoukuy reaffirmed its commitment to patriotism, sovereignty, and national unity.
