Namentenga Police Deploy Volunteers to Promote Roundabout Safety in Boulsa

Namentenga: Users made aware of the need to respect the roundabout in Boulsa: The Provincial Directorate of the National Police of Namentenga deployed on Thursday, August 28, 2025, the assistant security volunteers (VADS) in the town of Boulsa, with a view to raising awareness among users on the need to respect the roundabout at the various intersections.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the commune of Boulsa currently lacks marked crossroads, traffic lights, or road signs due to ongoing construction and asphalting work on national road n° 15, which traverses the town from south to north. This absence of clear road guidance has led to numerous accidents, prompting action from local authorities.

To combat this issue, the provincial directorate of the Namentenga national police deployed the assistant security volunteers (VADS) on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Their mission is to educate road users about the importance of adhering to roundabout directions at the intersections throughout Boulsa.

Olivier Baguimzanre, the Provincial Director of the Namentenga National Police and Chief Police Commissioner, highlighted the challenges faced by road users, particularly those from surrounding villages, who often struggle to navigate roundabouts correctly. “Efficient roads and a high sense of civic-mindedness among the population are essential to help minimize traffic accidents,” Baguimzanre stated.

The urgency of this initiative was underscored by a recent tragic incident on Sunday, August 24, 2025, when a road user lost their life in a fatal accident in Boulsa.
