Muslim Faithful Emphasize Unity and Patriotism During Eid El K©bir in Solenzo


Banwa: Muslim worshippers called for cohesion between religions and love of the homeland for all Burkinabe, during the prayer of Eid El K©bir or the feast of sheep, this Friday, June 6, 2025, at the great mosque of Solenzo. Since Friday morning, Muslims have been gathering in the rain at the Grand Mosque Square.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the faithful took their places inside the mosque while others preferred to stay under the sheds and trees. Imam Mohamed Konat© led the prayer at 8:30 a.m., emphasizing the need for peace, well-being of the defense forces, favorable weather for agriculture, and mutual understanding among the country’s residents.



The Eid al-Adha prayer, celebrated under light rain, brought together several hundred Muslim worshippers. At the conclusion of the prayer, a sheep was sacrificed, marking the beginning of individual sacrifices by the worshippers.



The High Commissioner, Sanfi©nal© Joseph Sirima, along with representatives from various religious communities and defense forces, visited the square to extend holiday greetings to the Muslim community, wishing them happiness and prosperity during the festive occasion.
