Burkinabe Students from Casablanca Triumph in Ambassador Cup Final Against Rabat


Rabat: Burkinabe students from Casablanca emerged victorious in the Ambassador Cup final against their counterparts from Rabat, securing a win with a score of three goals to zero. This marks the third consecutive win for the Casablanca team in the Burkina Faso Ambassador’s Cup to the Kingdom of Morocco, held on Sunday, April 27.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the tournament, which commenced on April 5, was divided into two phases. The initial phase saw participation from teams representing Moroccan cities in Zone A, including Rabat, Meknes, Fez, and others. The subsequent phase began on April 12 in Ben Gu©rir, with teams from Zone B cities such as Casablanca, Marrakech, and Laayoune. The final match was held in Rabat, with Mamadou Coulibaly, Burkina Faso’s Ambassador to Morocco, officiating the commencement of the competition.



The Burkinabe diplomat highlighted that the event served a purpose beyond sports, fostering values of mutual aid, solidarity, and fraternity among Burkinabe students in Morocco, with an overarching aim of achieving professional success. He emphasized that the annual activities help students learn, mentor, and better prepare for their professional lives.



The tournament was co-sponsored by Fabr© Camara, the Ambassador of Mali to Morocco, and Benzouina Brahim, President of the Partnership and International Cooperation Commission at the Casa Settat Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Morocco. Bambo Tigana, representing the Ambassador of Mali, praised the organizational efforts of Burkinabe students and encouraged unity among students of the Confederation of Sahel States.



Benzouina Brahim expressed appreciation for the strong ties between Morocco and Burkina Faso, which provide Burkinabe students with opportunities to engage in sports within Rabat. He emphasized the significance of sports and leisure activities for young people as means to combat stress and other adverse issues, reinforcing the message of unity among African nations.
