Kénédougou: An association celebrates academic excellence through its 48 hours of activities


The Departmental Association of Students and Schoolchildren of Kourinion (ADESK) organized from August 31 to September 1, 2024 , the 20th edition of its 48 hours of activities in Pindié Badara, in the rural commune of Kourinion, Kénédougou province. For the occasion, the organizers glorified academic excellence through awards to the best students.

The village of Pindié Badara in the rural commune of Kourinion in the province of Kénédougou, Hauts-Bassins region hosted from August 31 to September 1, 2024 , the activities marking the 20th edition of the 48 hours of the Departmental Association of Students and Schoolchildren of Kourinion (ADESK).

This celebration focused on the theme “The Burkinabe education system facing the problem of employability of young graduates in a context of security crisis, analysis, challenges and perspectives”.

On this occasion, the best students of the Kourinion department who distinguished themselves through their work during the past school year saw their efforts rewarded by
the organizers at both primary and secondary levels.

At the two schools in the village of Pindié Badara, the three best students in each class each received a school kit. The best girl and the best boy in the Primary School Certificate (CEP) of the department also each received a school kit and a bicycle from the organizing committee.

The same goes for the best girl and the best boy in the Brevet d’études du premier cycle (BEPC). In addition to the official awards, the best girl in the CEP received a special prize from a native of the village, Lambert Traoré .

According to the president of ADESK, Yacouba Sanogo, this theme comes at the right time, because he said, nowadays young graduates leaving schools and universities face a real problem of professional integration.

Mr. Sanogo also said that this situation has grown with the difficult security situation in the country.

The sponsors, Alain Ouattara and Gossiritio Traoré also welcomed the theme which is of interest and topicality. Furthermore, they expr
essed their gratitude and recognition to the organizing committee for this initiative which is part of the development of the commune of Kourinion but also and above all for having associated them with this event.

After 19 years of activity with an interruption in 2020 due to Covid19, ADESK is delighted to have contributed to increasing the school enrollment rate in the department.

For the 2023-2024 school year, the recorded municipal school enrollment rate is 93.29%.

As a reminder, ADESK was created in 2021 and has made the promotion of academic excellence its hobbyhorse in the department of Kourinion.
