Koosin: The High Commissioner of the Koosin province, Noufo Dembele, led a ceremony to honor the victims of the October 30-31, 2014, popular uprising. He urged all social classes to unite in support of the people.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony included a moment of silence observed by the constituted bodies of Koosin province to remember those who lost their lives during the uprising. High Commissioner Dembele emphasized the historical context of Burkina Faso, highlighting the ongoing progressive and popular revolution, which is embodied by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore.
Dembele remarked on the significance of the day, stating, “it is our duty to remember our martyred men, women and children who fell on the field of honor for freedom.” He stressed that the sacrifices made by the victims must not be forgotten and called on the community to keep the spirit of their struggle alive.
He further invited all social strata to align themselves with the people’s cause, urging them to be on the right side of history and to stand both for and with the people.
