Morocco: The Embassy of Burkina Faso in the Kingdom of Morocco organized the first edition of patriotic immersion days for the children of the Embassy’s diplomatic and administrative staff from October 25 to 27 in Rabat. The initiative aimed to instill patriotic, civic, and citizen values in Burkinabe youth.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Ambassador Mamadou Coulibaly, in his opening speech, emphasized the importance of the Patriotic Immersion program. This project aligns with the vision of the President of Faso, Comrade Captain Ibrahim Traore, focusing on training new citizens who are aware of their duties and committed to the Burkinabe Nation. Over the course of three days, participants received several presentations by Embassy officials covering topics such as the political history of Burkina Faso, patriotism, presidential initiatives, and National Days of Patriotic Engagement.
The Defence Attache, Lieutenant-Colonel Wendyam Abdel Rachid Sawadogo, alongside Commander Indou Sagnon, conducted a module focusing on order and discipline. This module aimed to raise awareness among participants about the importance of rule observance, respect for hierarchy, and the rigor necessary for any republican organization. The immersion days also featured a drill session, emphasizing marching cadence and regulation attitudes towards the national colors.
The event concluded with a solemn ceremony of raising the national colors, accompanied by the singing of the Ditanye, the victory hymn. Ambassador Coulibaly used this opportunity to highlight the importance of respecting the laws and regulations of host countries, which is crucial for social cohesion and harmonious coexistence.
The successful conclusion of the program set the stage for its next iteration in 2026. The future session will expand its reach, inviting the entire Burkinabe student community residing in Morocco, as well as the children of the Burkinabe diaspora within the jurisdiction of Morocco.
