9th Edition of International Esther Fast Commences in Koupela

Kourittenga: The 9th edition of the International Esther Fast was officially launched this Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Impact and Parole de Vie evangelical mission church in Koupela under the chairmanship of the head of the said Mission, Pastor Zacharie Josias Tiendrebeogo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the fast, themed “The Destruction of Evil Altars,” will last three days, concluding on August 30. The event commenced amidst praise, prayers, and teachings, marking a significant moment in the spiritual calendar of the church. The faithful gathered for collective fasting, focusing on prayer intentions such as the return of peace to Burkina Faso and the spiritual edification of the people.

Pastor Tiendrebeogo highlighted the original divine purpose of altars, which has been distorted over time. He emphasized that the event aims to combat the misuse of altars through prayer, asserting that Jesus Christ serves as the supreme altar for salvation and liberation. This spiritual gathering is not new for the mission, and Pastor Tiendrebeogo expressed his hopes for the faithful to engage deeply in prayer and teachings.

The opening ceremony saw attendance from several pastors from other regions, demonstrating unity and support in prayer for the nation. Pastor Mamoudou Ezekias Zempaligre from the international mission of intercession and evangelization of Tenkodogo remarked on the timely significance of the fast, stressing the importance of unified prayer during the country’s challenging times.

Similarly, the founding pastor of the Rehoboth Office ministry in Ouagadougou, Isaac Jeremie Bannou, emphasized the collective aspect of the fast, acknowledging the broader impact and support it garners when the church organizes such activities.

For participants, the fast is a source of hope and renewal. Mrs. Kabore, a participant, expressed her desire for divine intervention, hoping for liberation from personal challenges through the destruction of altars during the fast.
