34th ‘MASSADJAMI’ Promotion Joins Kadiogo Military Academy’s Enfants de Troupe

Kadiogo: The 34th class of the Prytan©e militaire de Kadiogo (PMK) since the school reopened in 1992 officially joined the large family of the Enfants de Troupe on the night of October 24, 2025. It now bears the baptismal name ‘MASSADJAMI,’ a word in the Gouin language meaning ‘Resilience,’ to symbolize the determination and bravery of the Burkinabe people and all the nations of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the class of 2025, made up of 105 students, including 70 boys and 35 girls, returned to school on August 24. Under the guidance of their elders, they undertook a month of initiation and adaptation to the life and ethics of the Enfant de Troupe. These new boarders, now well-informed of the values of the PMK, took an oath to unfailingly respect the school’s customs and traditions, the institution’s communications department reported.

The “MASSADJAMI” christening pays tribute to the resilience of the Burkinabe people and the populations of the Sahel, who, in their quest for freedom and sovereignty, refuse to give in to adversity. A powerful symbol that these young prytanes will have to embody throughout their journey, learning to resist, recover, and adapt to life’s many challenges.

The class, which brings together students from twelve African countries (Burkina Faso, Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo Brazzaville, Gabon, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Chad, and Togo) reflects the pan-African vocation of the Prytan©e militaire de Kadiogo, a true melting pot of integration and discipline.

The induction ceremony, sober but full of symbolism, took place in the presence of the students’ families, teachers, staff, as well as their sponsors from the 2005 class and grand sponsors from the 1975 class.

By receiving the attributes of the school, these new Children of the Troop have committed to preserving the legacy of their elders and to keeping high the torch of the PMK, lit since 1951. They thus fully enter into the framework of the establishment, with the mission of educating themselves to better serve their country, in accordance with the motto of the Prytan©e: “Educate yourself to better serve”.
