Urban Transport: Alsa Maroc Company Takes Precautionary Measures Against Covid-19

Casablanca – Urban transport company Alsa Maroc, which operates in Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, Khouribga, Rabat, Salé, Temara and Casablanca, announced on Monday a series of preventive measures as part of efforts to contain the pandemic of the new coronavirus (Covid-19) in the Kingdom.

Taking into account the situation and developments regarding this crisis, Alsa stressed in a press release that these emergency measures aim to “protect the health of citizens (users and staff) and curb the spread of the virus”.

These measures take into account the pathogenic and contagious nature of the virus”, said the same source, noting that “respecting the rules of distance between people is one of the most effective measures, in accordance with the recommendations of the Moroccan health authorities to limit the spread of the virus.”

The company decided to reduce the maximum number of passengers per bus to 40 people, to deploy teams in the various buses to raise the passengers’ awareness about the distance to be kept between travelers and to distribute hand sanitizers to all company personnel, as well as users of Alsa buses.

It also involves a cleaning operation at each terminus throughout the day, in order to disinfect the main parts of the bus (hand rails, doors, chairs, etc.), to wash all buses daily with a bactericidal product, to carry out an awareness-raising campaign every day to protect customers and staff, as well as to create a crisis cell to monitor the evolution of the coronavirus to make the necessary decisions.
