The association of dozo hunters of Poni launched, on Tuesday May 14, 2024, the activities of the 72 hours of dozos in the said province. On this occasion, they expressed their support for the Transitional government by imploring the blessings of their ancestors for the return of peace to Burkina Faso.
Coming from the four corners of the Poni province, and even from the sister brotherhoods of Ghana and the Ivory Coast, the dozos are in conclave for 72 hours in their sanctuary in Niobini, in sector 8 of Gaoua.
At the initiative of the association of dozo hunters of Poni, the activities were launched on Tuesday May 14, 2024 on the theme ‘The dozo facing local insecurity: challenges, issues and perspectives’.
According to the president of the association, Sansan Noufé, this setting is a moment of great reunion on the occasion of the national dozos days.
He indicated that the objective is to create union and cohesion between dozos and to work for the return of peace and to fight against terrorism.

During the ceremony, offerings were made to the ‘Dankoun’, the altar of the brotherhood of dozos, in order to request a return of peace.
‘We sacrificed chickens to ask for the blessings of the ancestors to protect the populations and for them to help us drive out these enemies of the Nation,’ argued Sansan Nouffé.
He has faith in the total liberation of the country in three months. Other sacrifices are planned later if the wishes are granted, he stressed.
For his part, the sponsor Sie Hubert Kambou, is convinced that the dynamic of these days is to contribute in solidarity to the fight against terrorism, but above all to encourage and strengthen collaboration with the security forces on the monitoring of movements and suspicious people, he added.
The chief of Gaoua canton, Bifaté II, president of the opening ceremony, is delighted with the organization of these 72 hours of dozo.
