Symposium on “Role of Modern Technologies and AI in Developing Journalistic Content for News Agencies” kicks off in Tunis


Tunis: The International Symposium on “Role of Modern Technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Developing Journalistic Content for News Agencies” kicked off works on Thursday at the ASBU headquarters in Tunis, at the initiative of Tunis Afrique Press (TAP) news agency as part of its presidency of the Alliance of Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN).

This event is attended by heads of Mediterranean news agencies, including AMAN Secretary General George Penintaex, and representatives of news agencies accredited in Tunis which are AMAN members, in addition to AI experts.

The participants will discuss AI-related topics, including “the ethical and legal challenges of using AI in news agencies,” “modern technologies at service of quality media content,” “how to inform in the age of AI in news agencies,” “AI and journalism,” “the role of AI in the development of work in the editorial desks,” “ANSA’s experience in integrating modern technologies,” “the use of AI in the production of audiovisual content,” “eth
ics of the AI service role for news agencies,” and “TAP’s experience in the use of modern technologies and information systems.”

Although the use of AI in recent years has changed the world, its impact on the economy and on human potential has not yet been clearly identified.

The Alliance of Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN) was created in Tunisia in 1991 at the initative of TAP in a bid to foster increased cooperation among members. It brings together 19 member news agencies from the two shores of the Mediterranean.
