Sports Facilities will Be Mobilized for Baccalaureate Exams, Official

Rabat – Sports facilities will be mobilized for the baccalaureate exams, said Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, spokesperson of the government Said Amzazi.

The Minister who was the guest of the program “Questions on Corona”, broadcast Tuesday evening by 2M TV channel, said this measure is part of the diversification of areas to house the end of year exams, in compliance with health measures mainly social distancing.

Amzazi noted that thanks to the close coordination between the government departments, all educational establishments will be disinfected several times a day, face masks and temperature measurement tools will be distributed, and social distancing will be respected through the mobilization of a class for 10 candidates.

The minister said that no decision will be taken without coordination with the health authorities, the interior ministry and the head of government, noting that in order to guarantee equal opportunities for all students, it has been decided that the examination subjects will be related only to the courses given in person before the suspension of classes (March 14, 2020).

Reviewing the schedule of exams and the various measures taken to preserve the health of students, the Minister cited in particular the cancellation of the regional exam for the 3rd year of middle school, and the local one for the 6th year of elementary school, stating that only the grades of the tests organized until March 14th will be taken into account for these levels.

Like the public sector, the minister said that in person courses in private education will not resume during the summer period.

Concerning higher education, Amzazi recalled that the exams will take place in September in establishments with open access and from mid-July for establishments with limited access, with the adoption of the principle of flexibility in the organization of tests.

Students can discuss their end-of-study projects as well as their doctoral theses remotely, while ensuring compliance with prevention and health security measures, to carry out their necessary scientific research, he added.

In addition, he said that the month of September will be devoted to catching up and providing remedial courses to support students in person, in order to reinforce their skills and allow them to continue their studies in the best conditions.
