Six EV charging stations set up in Nabeul


Nabeul: Six electric vehicle (EV) charging stations were set up by Nabeul municipality, as part of efforts to achieve energy transition and save energy.

The setting up of these stations fall under the implementation of the Alliance of Local Councils for Energy Transition (French: ACTE) programme, which brings together seven pilot municipalities in several Tunisian regions, with the contribution of the National Energy Command Agency (French: ANME), and the financial and technical support of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).

These stations were set up on Thursday in strategic points, namely the headquarters of Nabeul municipality, the Sidi Amor municipal district and the municipal warehouse in Nabeul, said Development Deputy Director at the municipality Hajer Bejaoui.

They are mainly intended for municipal cars and lorries, as part of the programme to save energy and reduce high cost of fuel, she pointed out.

The municipality will also continue to work towards renewing its electric fl
eet so as to achieve the expected efficiency, she added.

she further revealed “the possibility of providing recharging services to owners of electric cars, from the headquarters of the Nabeul municipality,” especially as the system is powered entirely by solar energy.
