Ramadan: In Gaoua, Muslims prayed for the return of stability to Burkina Faso


Like other Muslim faithful in Burkina, those of Gaoua celebrated, on Wednesday April 10, 2024, the feast of Ramadan marking the end of 30 days of fasting.

Led by the imam of the great mosque of Gaoua, El Hadj Abdoul Salam Sissako, the prayer took place at the place of the Gaoua revolution.

Wednesday April 10, 2024 marked the end of the month Ramadan in Burkina Faso.

The Muslim faithful of Gaoua, as usual, stormed the places of prayer. The Place de la Revolution de Gaoua sacrificed to tradition by hosting the prayer led by the imam of the great mosque of Gaoua, El Hadj Abdoul Salam Sissako.

After two rakat and salat, El Hadj Abdoul Salam Sissako delivered his sermon.

The imam of the great mosque of Gaoua, El Hadj Abdoul Salam Sissako thanked the almighty for the strength and courage given to Muslims for observing this pillar of Islam despite the intense heat of this year.

During the prayer, he urged Muslims to work at all times and everywhere for tolerance, the preservation of peace and social cohesion w
ith all communities.

Furthermore, he invoked God to bring stability to Burkina Faso.

Also, he hoped that the rainfall would be abundant this year.

The governor of the South-West region, Boureima Savadogo, accompanied by religious and administrative authorities, marked their presence at the prayer ceremony.

‘We are present to pray with our Muslim brothers who have spent a month in penance, prayer, almsgiving so that their faith can be strengthened,’ Boureima Savadogo said after the prayer.

It was an opportunity for the governor to thank and greet the Muslim community who for a month carried the region and the country in their prayers.

He expressed his gratitude to Muslims for the actions taken for the benefit of vulnerable people.

Before inviting them to always continue good works and not limit themselves to this month.

‘We say thank you to the Muslim brothers for this self-sacrifice so that the country can move forward. May God grant them the height of their efforts,’ said the governor.
