The President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE granted an audience this Monday morning to the President of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot), Samuel Eto’o. Present in Ouagadougou as part of the final of the Faso Cup, Samuel Eto’o discussed with the Head of State around the promotion of football.

“I was pleasantly surprised to see that his Excellency the President of the Transition follows football closely, especially since he has a very tight schedule. I would like to say thank you to him for all the efforts made to ensure that Burkinabè football is in the place it deserves”, declared the president of Fecafoot at the end of the hearing.

Samuel Eto’o congratulated Burkina Faso on qualifying for the final phase of the African Cup of Nations (CAN), Côte d’Ivoire 2023. For him, Burkina Faso has a very good team, and this since the last CAN in Cameroon.

“Burkina Faso will be playing practically at home and there will be a lot of pressure, as they will have stadiums that are certainly full and secured. We will have to be careful with this Burkinabè team because it is already a good team, ”he explained.

The president of the Cameroonian Football Federation clarified that his country is one victory away from qualifying and he remains confident. He hopes that Burkina Faso and Cameroon will not be in the same group because “they are two brother countries and I want them to meet as late as possible in this competition”, concluded Samuel Eto’o.
