Nador: Turkish Citizen Caught Trying to Smuggle 230 kg of chira, Police

Rabat – The Nador Judicial Police opened on Saturday a judicial investigation, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, against a Turkish citizen caught while trying to smuggle 230 kilograms of chira on board a truck registered in the Netherlands, in order to shed light on all criminal acts brought against him.

National police and customs services operating at the port of Nador arrested the suspect red-handed while he prepared to embark towards the port of Almeria, Spain, said a statement by the National Police (DGSN).

The suspect was remanded in police custody for the investigation which is conducted under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office. The operation is part of efforts made by the National Police and the customs services to fight international drug trafficking, according to the same source.
