Nador: Police Arrest Three Suspects of Links to Criminal Network Active in International Drug Trafficking
Rabat – Elements of the judicial brigade in the city of Nador arrested, Wednesday, on the basis of precise information provided by the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), three individuals suspected of links with a criminal network active in the international trafficking of cocaine via maritime routes.
The first suspect was arrested immediately after his arrival on board a jet-ski at the beach of “Boukana” near Nador from Melilla, in possession of about 21 kilograms of cocaine, while the other suspects were nabbed near the beach, said the national police (DGSN) in a statement, adding that the latter are suspected of being the owners of this shipment of drugs.
The searches carried out as part this operation led to the seizure of two cars and three jet-skis, a banknote counter, in addition to sums of money suspected to be originated from this criminal activity, as well as several cell phones, an electronic scale and computer equipment, added the statement.
The suspects have been placed in police custody to complete the preliminary investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the possible ramifications of this criminal activity, concluded the DGSN.
