Nador: Individual Arrested for Posting Video with Erroneous Coronavirus Data Online (National Police)

Rabat – The judicial police of the Nador security district arrested, on Tuesday, a 29-year-old individual on suspicion of having put online through computer systems a video containing erroneous and fraudulent data on the new coronavirus (Covid-19).

According to the initial data of the investigation, the suspect, administrator of a Facebook page, had broadcast an old video showing acts of vandalism in the city of Laayoune last July following a football match, said the national police (DGSN) in a statement, adding that the individual accompanied the video with false comments in which he argues that these are disturbances related to the violation of the state of health emergency in Tangier following an assembly last Saturday in some residential areas.

The suspect has been placed in police custody to complete the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office in order to clarify all the circumstances and the motive behind these criminal acts, the statement concludes.
